News from the Principal
Dear Families,
Once again, we are delighted to be able to welcome all of our students back to their classrooms today.
I sincerely thank you for managing a three way collaboration between staff, student and families! It is with absolutely no fuss, that you all adapt and work together through these emergencies and support all students with the continuation of their learning.
In line with current restrictions, we ask that parents limit their access into our school building. If you need to enter, please wear a mask, sanitise your hands and QR code into our building.
Next Tuesday, 17th August, was scheduled for a school closure day, but due to recurring COVID lockdowns, we feel that it is important for us all to be at school on this day.
School closure day is now cancelled and students will attend school.
Our Arts Festival is definitely a highlight of Term 3 and an event we are looking forward to!
Every second year, the St Patrick's community enjoys a festival that showcases the best of our Arts. We are so incredibly proud of our students for approaching this event with such enthusiasm, and we can’t wait to come together at the end of Term 3, to celebrate the amazing variety of talents and passions of our very creative students.
I wish you all a great week!
Paul McDowell

REJUVENATION OF OUR STUDENT WALL
Georgie, Hannah and Meg have begun a rejuvenation of the student wall at the back of our playground.
The paintings were created by previous students and date back about 20 years. They were in need of a touch up, as the paint work was very faded. It is amazing how good they look already and our current students will continue to give these pictures a new life.
Year 5/6 School Camp - Change of date and venue.
The Year 5/6 Camp will now take place from the 6th to 8th December and will held at Campaspe Downs. The camp is set amid 180 acres of natural bushland in the Macedon Ranges, Close to Kyneton and Hanging Rock.
There is a wide range of facilities to enjoy, including sports stadium.
School Ball rescheduled date
We are delighted that our Parents and Friends School Ball is now scheduled for Saturday 16th October.
The long awaited event will be held in Donegan's Potato Shed and doors open at 7 pm.
Tickets are only $50 per head and include a two course meal and a great dance band. Drinks are at bar prices.
Tickets are limited to 100 and they are selling very well. All parents on the previous list have been contacted and their tickets transferred to the new date. Please reserve your tickets as soon as you can, so you won't be disappointed.
What a wonderful night of socialisation this will be!
QR CODE AT ST PATRICK'S SCHOOL
All persons entering our school building must scan the QR code.
These records will help with any future contact tracing that may be necessary in slowing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Some visitors may not be able to scan a code. Our poster has a unique six-character location code they can enter via the Service Victoria app (available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store).

Wet Day Outside Play - overclothes
Dear Families,
Due to the amount of water currently around, children are permitted to bring old over clothes to school to put on over their school uniform during outside play times.
Hopefully this will alleviate some of your laundry woes.
Pastoral Care
Pastoral care is key to our strong sense of community across the School. There are many threads to the programme – both formal and informal – and all have the intention of addressing the well-being of each student at their individual point of need.
Vivian Lunt is the Pastoral Care Worker at our school. She is a qualified and a very professional and caring Pastoral Care Worker employed at our school every Thursday.
Vivian works with individual children on request, class groups and parents and families as required. All interactions remain strictly confidential.
If any family would like to access this service, either for themselves personally or their child, please contact the school office for an appointment with Vivian.
