Term 3, Week 9 School Newsletter.
News from the Principal
Dear Families,
The weather and few persistent bugs seem to be challenging us all at the moment but with ‘SPRING’ finally upon us, things should be looking up soon.
Congratulations to the Gordon football and netball teams who have continued their great form and are in the grandfinal this weekend. We enjoy hearing of the continued success of our past and present students and of the fun they are having in their sporting pursuits. Hopefully there will be a premiership celebration or two this coming weekend. I wish all teams every success for the day and hope that whatever the result, that all players feel they were able to give their very best throughout the games.
The success of our local sporting teams is the result of a great deal of hard work by many of our parents who have worked tirelessly in many roles to ensure the teams get out each week. Well done to all those who are not playing but who have supported the teams, acted as officials, worked in the canteen, washed uniforms etc. This is a wonderful achievement for the Gordon Football Club!
Can I thank all the dads who attended our Father’s Day afternoon tea and liturgy last week. There were many Fathers and Grandfather's at our celebration last Friday. I believe all the dads greatly enjoyed their feed, the company of their children and the company of many other dads. Hopefully you were all spoilt on Sunday.
We have our Mission Day on Friday and we invite all families and friends to join us at 12:45 pm. Children and adults will be able to buy a sausage in bread and a soft drink . We will not be heating hot lunches on this day. Please bring along cash on the day and support this wonderful cause.
Have a great week everyone.
Paul McDowell.
