2022 Term 4, Week 4, School Newsletter.
News from the Principal
Dear Families,
I would like to thank Bianca Flint for the recent 'Body Image' talk she presented to the parents. This was followed by a 'Body Image' session with our senior girls. Bianca was absolutely inspiring and she is a wonderful role model to all.
Please be aware that we still have Rapid Antigen Kits availabe to families, as well as children's face masks. Please contact the school office if your require either.
Ourpatch is our Before and After School provider for 2023. We ask that families think about registering now for permanent or casual use in the future. If you require further assistance to complete the paperwork, the staff at Ourpatch are willing to assist.
We have had a lot of interest from children wanting to participate in the Ballan Autum Parade on Sunday 13th November. The theme for the day is 'Bloomin Marvellous' and there is further information on this newsletter.
We have just been notified that new NBN units will be installed at our school tomorrow between 1 and 4 pm. This will result in a power outage for a time. Please be aware that the internet and our landline will not be working, but we will be contactable by the school mobile phone on 0419 689495.
SunSmart
St Patrick's Primary School is a Sun Smart School.
All students need to have their school hat on to play outside at all times! Please dig out your child’s hat and make sure they have it in their bag and that it is labelled with their name. New school hats are available for purchase from Crockers in Armstrong Street.
School Uniform
We ask that all children are now wearing their full summer uniform. This consists of polo top with our logo, navy shorts, skorts, and gingham navy and white dress.
Long Hair requirements
- All long hair, for both boys and girls should be tied back for school.
- Hair needs to be clipped back off the face and not drooping over faces.
- Hair that is loose, interferes with learning as children are always touching or shaking it out of the way.
- Untied hair can be a safety issue around equipment, both inside and outside.
- Loose hair also greatly increases the chances of catching head lice.
Thank you for your help with ensuring your children come to school with tied and clipped hair.
I trust that we all can enjoy a great Term 4 together at St Patrick’s School.
Paul McDowell, Principal.

GEORGIE CONROY PROFILE - CLASS OF 2022 - YEAR 6 GRADUENT
My favourite book is Snoopy. He just has character and he also brings out the character in me.
My favourite sports are netball, swimming and tennis.
My best memory at school is meeting my friends.
In ten years time I think I will take up university college and study to be a Vet. I will have a nice house, fall in love and have fun as a college student.
My advice for younger students is "life is too short to hate, because you don't know how good you have got it, until it goes."
BEATRIX FLINT PROFILE - CLASS OF 2022 - YEAR 6 GRADUENT
My favourite book is Goosebumps, because I've grown up reading a whole book a night from the series.
My favourite sport is learning to skateboard with my Dad.
My best memory at school is when I was in Prep and my first buddy made me a small stocking. I remember it so well. It's by far my favourite memory.
In ten years time I think I will have a nice house, a cat and dog and I will be studying something at University, possibly fashion.
My advice for younger students is "Don't let rude people keep you from doing what you love. At the end of the day, you go home to a loving family, who accept you for who you are."
