Term 3, Week 1, 2023 School Newsletter

News from the Principal

Dear Families,

Welcome back families!  I hope that you are all well rested and ready for Term 3. As usual it will be a busy 11 week term, packed with learning and a few fun activities along the way.

We look forward to a fantastic term.  We will be having school photos on Wednesday, 2nd August.  MSP Photography will have a Portal for ordering online.  Once this is available we will let all families know so you can go online and place your order.

This term we will be having a Visual Art Show.  We alternate every year between an Art Show and a Drama Production; this is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and for our students to showcase all they have been achieving in art. It will be a wonderful culmination to Term Three. Remember the date - Thursday, 14th September.

I will be away from Monday, 24th July until Friday, 4th August on Long Service Leave. During this time Fiona and Libby will be responsible for any queries you may have, although if urgent I am contactable to school and families.

I look forward to seeing families in the school, in the carpark and at our fortnightly assemblies, with next Friday, 21st July,  our first for the term.

Have a wonderful weekend and see you all Monday morning.

Paul

Parent & Friend Updates

Dear families

A reminder that the Parent and Friend committee are currently holding 2 fundraisers.

On Sunday, 30th July there will be a saussage sizzle at Bunnings Creswick Road.  If you have some spare time we would greatly appreciate any help on the day.  It is a fun day and a wonderful fundraiser for our school community.  Please advise if you can assist us on the day.

We are also collecting recipes from families.  We would love to include one from all members of our school.  A big thankyou to those of you who have already forwarded your recipes, if you haven't can you please do so by Tuesday 25th July.  It can be something that your family cooks all the time or it can be something you've found on the internet that you think looks delicious!

Thankyou to all who have returned the permission slip for your child's artwork to be used in the 2023 recipe book publication.  If you haven't done so can you please sign and take it into the office at school.

Please forward recipes and availablity for sausage sizzle via email: pandfstpatricksgordon.outlook.com or  0431 137 770

Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is key to our strong sense of community across the School. There are many threads to the programme – both formal and informal – and all have the intention of addressing the well-being of each student at their individual point of need.

Vivian Lunt is the Pastoral Care Worker at our school. She is a qualified and a very professional and caring Pastoral Care Worker employed at our school every Thursday.

Vivian works with individual children on request, small groups and parents and families as required. All interactions remain strictly confidential.

If any family would like to access this service, either for themselves personally or their child, please contact the school office to arrange an appointment with Vivian.
