Term 1, Week 1, 2024 School Newsletter
News from the Principal
Dear Families,
Welcome to the beginning of our 2024 school year. This first week has seen such positivity and enthusiam for learning, with the engagement between staff and students a joy to watch. Whilst the term is a relatively short one due to Easter, it will be a full calendar and we look forward to seeing each parent join us across the term.
We welcome all our new Foundation students, along with students in Year Two and Year Five who have joined us this year. All of our newest members across these year levels- Lachlan, Nora, Holly, Rose, Yhollanda, Harrison, Maise and Zina are beautiful additions to our school. We welcome the Milesi, Dando and Plaisted families to St. Patrick's PS.
Please place Monday, 12th February in your diary as we will be having a Parent Information Evening from 6.30pm to share what the year looks like across Foundation to Year Six with teachers spending time with families to talk about learning. Children are welcome to join you if supervision at home is not avaialble. We will intially gather in the hall before moving to seperate classrooms.
We welcome Bronwyn Dow as our new full-time OurPatch co-ordinator. Bronwyn has had a great start meeting our children and families and we will support her in all ways possible. OurPatch has undergone some compliance changes and families may recieve correspondence about PIN numbers and new sign in/sign out procedures. Like school itself , adherence to compliance is an ever changing world and we do all this to ensure the saftey of every child.
Our wonderful Parents and Friends will conclude their term at the end of this school term, and I would like to invite interested parents to a monring tea on Monday, 19th at 9.00am to ask what you might think are activities we might pursue for fundraising and if certain parents would like to take the lead for particular events. At present we hope to have a Bunnings BBQ some time this year that requires co-ordination, Hot Cross Bun drive in Term One and something to align with our production at the end of term two, such as a wine and cheese pre show event. These are only a sample of what might be possible.
Please keep your eye on the school calendar for dates of assemblies, celebrations such as Shrove Tuesday/Ash wednesday. We'd love to have you with us at every opportunity.
A quick reminder that we will also begin Playgroup next Monday, 5th February.
Enjoy the weekend ahead. See you for Week Two next Monday.
Paul
First Day 2024
As a community we warmly welcome our new families to school. We look forward to getting to know all of our new students and their families. Please reach out to your classroom teacher, the office or to Paul if you have any questions - we hope you enjoy your learning journey with us here at St Patrick's.
So lovely to have beautiful sunshiny days - a great excuse to sit outside and eat our lunch. A reminder that term 1 we must have our hats for outside play.
After a successful grant application by our dedicated Parents and Friends we have now purchased and installed a defibrillator for our school and the wider community. It is in the foyer of the building and can currently be accessed from 6.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday as we work towards allowing 24 hour access to the whole community and families.
An absolute lifesaving gift which we hope to never use.
Information regarding the Sacramental program for St Patrick's Parish for 2024.

Dear Parents
As part of our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being at all students at St.
Patrick’s, we are reaching out to inquire about any unnotified asthma or allergy plans that may be in
place for your child.
Your child’s health and safety are our top priorities and your cooperation in providing this information is greatly appreciated.
If your child has been diagnosed with asthma or allergies (also seasonal), we kindly request that you
inform us of any existing plans or protocols that should be followed while they are at school. This
information will help us better understand your child’s needs and enable us to respond
appropriately in case of health related situations.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and please do not hesitate to contact us with any
questions or concerns.

Pastoral Care
Pastoral care is key to our strong sense of community across the School. There are many threads to the programme – both formal and informal – and all have the intention of addressing the well-being of each student at their individual point of need.
Vivian Lunt is the Pastoral Care Worker at our school. She is a qualified and a very professional and caring Pastoral Care Worker employed at our school every Wednesday.
Vivian works with individual children on request, small groups and parents and families as required. All interactions remain strictly confidential.
If any family would like to access this service, either for themselves personally or their child, please contact the school office to arrange an appointment with Vivian.
Music lessons
We are now taking bookings for 2024 music lessons. If you would like any information please contact Tim on 0450 904 464 and he can discuss with you.
